Creating A Social Impact

Lean Practice is built on the principles we instill in our clients of continuous improvement.

Part of the process of continuous improvement is identifying when more can be done to improve, identifying the areas of improvement and making a commitment to change and improve.

Diversity in the consulting industry has been an issue for as long as we can remember and we want to stand up and be honest about the lack of diversity in our space.

Aaron Penwill our Managing Director said “ I love what I do, it's great to work with so many makers, creators, builders and doer's. I get to help them increase their productivity, to get more done with less effort and resources.

There's lots of people like me in this consulting space. That's DISAPPOINTING.

There's too many LIKE me. I want to CHANGE this.

I want to bring more diversity from underrepresented groups into consulting. The rich diversity of thinking this will provide will enrich our clients and power UK industries to new levels of productivity.

Today I make a pledge to raise more awareness of this issue and help to get more people from underrepresented groups into consulting, especially in the fields of Lean, Continuous Improvement, Operations.”

We’re excited to see how our commitment can help shape the future of the consulting industry and see a better representation of the diverse backgrounds of our workforce and future leaders.

In order to keep to this pledge, we have created Social Impact goals that are just as important as other strategic goals for the business like Profit, Growth etc. We are in the business of doing good and as a business we have a springboard to help shape society for the better.

Our 2022 SOCIAL IMPACT GOALS are:

  1. Increase Awareness of the Diversity Gap in Consulting - we WILL step up and speak up about this issue - we WILL submit monthly social media posts on our channels to generate impressions to build that awareness

  2. Support consultants and aspiring consultants from under represented groups - we WILL hold quarterly webinars and invite experts to share insights to help consultants from under represented groups and amplify their success

  3. Prioritise consultants from under represented groups in our own selection process - we WILL continue to select the right people for the work we do with clients but we will actively go out and find the right person from under represented groups FIRST and if they are a good candidate we will select them FIRST over a candidate from a majority group.
